About Colibrí Massage & Bodyworks

In some indigenous communities, El Colibrí (the hummingbird) is highly protected as a sacred being as it acts as a messenger of time and healing.

One incredible characteristic of the hummingbird is that it has the ability to fly backward and forward which mirrors the importance of one being able to look back at the past but still continue forward, and while still being in the present.

El Colibrí travels from flower to flower, selectively choosing the most nutritious and sweet options, this selectivity mimics the importance of being selective in what we choose to nourish our lives with.

From this, we can learn a valuable lesson regarding the importance of time and healing. Whether you are seeking just a moment of relaxation or to work out some tension in your shoulders, massage therapy also offers time and space to assist you during your journey of healing.

MEET THE MASSAGE THERAPIST

     In the fall of 2019, I made the decision to change my daily routine and start my journey into wellness. I became a student in the Massage Therapy program at the Academy of Massage & Bodyworks in Bear, DE. After a 600+ hour coursework commitment and becoming certified in the field, I took a step further toward becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist.

     I have been trained in: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Therapeutic, Sports, Hot Stone, and Pre-Natal Massage, as well as Reflexology, Aromatouch, Ear Candling, and more. I have also been trained in Oncology Massage (including palliative touch & for the medically frail).

      I am a lifelong student who believes in the ability of cultivating one’s own knowledge and nourishing one’s mind, body, and spirit. Therefore,

     I have also become certified in:
Integrative Muscular Movement Technique (Levels I, II, III, & Cupping Therapy), Lomi Lomi, and Bamboo Massage.

ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

  • Worker’s compensation and auto collision clients.
  • As a Lymphedema Therapist which also certifies me in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), which includes compression bandage wrapping.
    *I do not administer wound care.

Colibrí Massage & Bodyworks was founded in February 2021 with the intention of promoting self care and wellness to all. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish. I am located inside the office of Chiropractic and Muscle Therapy of Delaware.
